wave 3 top 5

So what is the top 5 mos interesting  things of the P.O.D ,the Sui, and Tang. My very own opinion is this order 5 being least and 1 being the best. Even though all of these things have made a great impact on the world, some are just boring and some are pretty freak'in cool.
Tang dynasty calligraphy

5. Calligraphy- even though it is a big part of Chinese  history - it sucks. Its cool to look at if you are an American and you are like "what the hell is that" but the Chinese are writing in pictures stuff that represent things of every day life. Overall even though it would be really cool to write nice lines and say ni-how and put that on paper its just boring. However in these dynasties if you could read and write calligraphy than you would be an elite.

4. Buddhism- Its very interesting how different Buddhism is different form western beliefs. It is hard for Americans to wrap their head around the ideas of reincarnation, abolishing all temptations. It was also hard for the Tang dynasty to accept this religion it went against  a lot of thing that the Tang ( men mostly) stood for.

During the Tang dynasty, Buddhism declined, and Confucianism became more popular. Even though Buddhism was at its peak during the early Tang dynasty, many of the Tang officials were of the Confucian discipline and regarded Buddhism as a disruptive force in China. So, in 845, the Tang emperor started a full-scale persecution of Buddhists. More than 4600 monestaries and 40,000 temples and shrines were destroyed. Other religious groups were also brought under government control. During the Tang dynasty, Buddhism declined, and Confucianism became more popular. 3. Music- I myself play the guitar so i find the Tang dynasties music very interesting. I wished i had the ability to play the guqin. It is a very Chinese sounding instrument and had a big role in chinese music. The tang dynasty had some amazing pieces that sound great and still can be heard today.

2.Sculpture- Is an amazing part of art and is fascinating to look at. The Tang dynasty has some really great pieces of art. It has alot of meaning in it and inspired the art to come.

1.Martial Arts- is by far the coolest thing that came from the Tang Dynasty. It was the begining of kung fu. Kung Fu came from a Buddhist monetary. They do a lot of cool things and look super epic. The National Geographic channel does a great piece on it.
